Summoning Jutsu

The Summoning Technique (口寄せの術 ~ Kuchiyose no Jutsu) is a space–time ninjutsu that allows the summoner to transport animals or people across long distances instantly and uses blood as a sacrifice. On Mythos, summoning jutsu are a unique and special ability granted to fuinjutsu users who are at least proficient in the specialization. Once they are there, the ninja unlocks the ability to earn a summoning contract with a variety of animal species, individual animals, or even some special items themselves. The Summoning Technique is listed below and allows a user to summon their contracted summon directly to the location they are in so long as they have the chakra and draw the blood necessary to do so.

Summoning Jutsu:

Name: Summoning Technique (口寄せの術 ~ Kuchiyose no Jutsu)
Rank: C rank
Type: Offensive/Defensive/Supplementary
Duration: Indefinite
Requirements: Must be at least proficient in Fuinjutsu to learn the summoning jutsu.
Points:

  • Damage:
  • Defense:
  • Healing:
  • Range:
  • Duration: 9
  • Size:
  • Speed:
  • Potency:
  • Effects: 9

Description: The user starts out by drawing blood from their body and placing it on their palm and then weaves together the hand signs (Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram) before pressing their palm flatly against the ground and releasing chakra out to summon a creature of their choosing. The summoning jutsu can also be used to summon the contracts of others by having a seal that summons directly the creature intended and the blood of the person (must be obtained IC) who owns the summoning contract. With those two things, a third party can weave the signs and expend their chakra to bring forth the summon on their own. The summoning jutsu cost varies depending on the summoned creatures rank by doubling the activation cost respective to that rank of summon and by paying the respective maintenance cost per turn that summon is active.

The above summoning jutsu can be varied in the short term and create unique single-use summoning jutsu where a person uses the summoning jutsu to summon a creature to complete a task and then disappears. These variants of the summoning jutsu must be apped individually by those with the respective summoning contract and follow the jutsu rules strictly to encompass those new jutsu affects. These variant jutsu are unlike normal summoning jutsu and though the creatures may have stats themselves, they don't have disposable chakra pools and can only be summoned for the completion of that one task.

Summoning Contracts

Summoning contracts are unique items that can be applied for and trained that allow a person to summon a certain classification of creature and/or item. This contract, must be apped in the item shop using the template below:

Item Contract:

Species/Item: (What species or item are you trying to summon?)
Location: (Where is the location that this species resides in, either nation or specific location)
Senjutsu: (Y/N?)
Specs: (What specializations are natural for this animal to use?)
Elements: (What elements can these animals use on their own?)
Code:

[b]Species/Item:[/b] (What species or item are you trying to summon?)
[b]Location:[/b] (Where is the location that this species resides in, either nation or specific location)
[b]Senjutsu:[/b] (Y/N?)
[b]Specs:[/b] (What specializations are natural for this animal to use?)
[b]Elements:[/b] (What elements can these animals use on their own?)

Each summoning contract must be unique and these can be highly specific but can also be as general as the species themselves. (ie. both monkey summoning and gorilla summoning are legitimate contracts). The rule for keeping approved contracts unique will be that the more unique summoning contract overrules the more generic one. In the case of the monkey summoning vs gorilla summoning, the monkey contract will lose the ability to summon gorillas and the gorilla contract by name, can't summon another class of monkey. It is for this reason that the more specific a contract, the better off the user will be in light that they don't end up losing a portion of their summoning ability.

As for location, this merely represents a location that the person must travel to or visit in order to meet their summoned animal and sign their name in blood to the contract. The user can travel via reverse summoning by casting the summoning jutsu without a contract but they are still subject to the site travel rules for doing so.

A contract's Senjutsu marker merely asks if an animal species knows the power of Senjutsu (utilizing nature energy) and whether they can dual-purpose for the stage of learning and training Senjutsu and utilizing Sage techniques. There are no bonuses or penalties for having or not having senjutsu, it only allows the user to incorporate themselves into senjutsu combination techniques provided that the user and their summon have senjutsu of the appropriate level. As a matter, any summon who is senjutsu enabled has their Senjutsu at Master level without exception but those summons that utilize Senjutsu in any way must be B rank or higher.

For specializations and elements, list out the respective specs and elements that your summoned species/item can use (if any). As for a summons anatomy, it is assumed that they can use varying anatomy as a weapon/armor otherwise but must be specified with each individual summon on how powerful that actually is.

Finally, once a summoning contract is approved for use, those who wish to use the summoning contract must train it in a thread for 3500 words. Beyond this, for each contract, the thread must take place in or within the respective location and must include in an In-Character sense, the user signing their name in blood on the contract scroll to earn the ability to summon that animal. For items, the same applies for whatever entity or person holds the contract or they just write the word count of them tying the item to a summoning contract on their own. The person who creates the summoning contract also earns the right to be the contract-holder themselves and they own a scroll which contains varying names that others can inscribe their name in blood to earn the right to summon that creature/item. Even though the subsequent users sign their name from the contract holder they must still spend 3500 words in the thread to 'train' it as they would have before but do so through a different mechanic than finding the summoning animal directly. Though any number of people can summon a particular entity, there can only ever be one contract holder and upon their death, the contract becomes the property of the next name in line on that contract.

Summons

There are three types of summons that will be listed out below here in detail but as an overview, there are those summons briefly mentioned before that are single use summoning jutsu to accomplish a certain task. A good example of this would be a Dog summoning jutsu that while active, searches out a target that matches to a certain scent or perhaps the summon of several bees that search out and attempt to sting a certain target. These jutsu are very broad in nature and are apped using the standard jutsu template and rules.

The next two types are those of the traditional summoning jutsu seen most often in canon, the ability to summon a creature or item directly to oneself to aid in combat. Standard Summons and Giant Summons are the two classes and they each follow the rules a bit differently of their own accord depending on the rank of the related summon. All summoning jutsu are applied for as you would a jutsu but are subject to increased word counts to obtain the summoning themselves as such:

  • E rank: 500 words
  • D rank: 1500 words
  • C rank: 2000 words
  • B rank: 2500 words
  • A rank: 3000 words
  • S rank: 4000 words
  • SS rank: 5000 words

Standard Summons- These creatures and items are very standard summons for all intent and purpose. They can actually be quite large but usually only 2-3x the size of a normal human and no where near the stature of their giant companions. The standard summons have a variety of stats, jutsu, etc... related to their rank as detailed below:

  • E-rank: Summons of this rank can have up to 100 stat points to distribute and only have 20 chakra and can only use their basic animal anatomy (no jutsu).
  • D-rank: Summons of this rank can have up to 250 stat points to distribute and have 60 chakra to use and can have 2 standard jutsu up to C rank in addition to their natural biological anatomy.
  • C-rank: Summons of this rank can have up to 500 stat points to distribute and have 100 chakra to use and can have 3 standard jutsu to to B rank in addition to their natural biological anatomy.
  • B-rank: Summons of this rank can have up to 750 stat points to distribute and have 150 chakra to use and can have 5 standard jutsu to to A rank in addition to their natural biological anatomy.
  • A-rank: Summons of this rank can have up to 1000 stat points to distribute and have 200 chakra to use and can have 7 standard jutsu to to A rank with one jutsu able to be S rank in addition to their natural biological anatomy.
  • S-rank: Summons of this rank can have up to 1500 stat points to distribute and have 300 chakra to use and can have 10 standard jutsu to to A rank with two jutsu able to be S rank in addition to their natural biological anatomy.
  • SS-rank: Summons of this rank can have up to 2000 stat points to distribute and have 400 chakra to use and can have 15 standard jutsu to to A rank with three jutsu able to be S rank in addition to their natural biological anatomy.

Giant Summons- These creatures and items are incredibly large and powerful related to a standard summoning jutsu, and tend to tower over other buildings and structures with ease. Giant Summons must be of at least B rank and follow slightly different jutsu rules, in that two categories are multiplied by a factor of the size of the summon itself. That is to say that a giant summon has a limit to its size depending on its rank and as such, they increase the size and range of their jutsu naturally depending on that size as well. But, because of this increased size, summons can only use offensive jutsu equal to their rank - 2 ranks (ie. a B rank summon can only use D rank offensive jutsu, an A rank can only use C rank offensive jutsu, and so on).

  • B-rank: Summons can be up to 20 meters tall. Their jutsu can be up to twice as large in both range and size.
  • A-rank: Summons can be up to 30 meters tall. Their jutsu can be up to three times as large in both range and size.
  • S-rank: Summons can be up to 50 meters tall. Their jutsu can be up to fix times as large in both range and size.
  • SS-rank: Summons can be up to 100 meters tall. Their jutsu can be up to ten times as large in both range and size.

The giant summons have a variety of limits related to their rank as detailed below but because of their size the only stat they carry openly is chakra as their movements cover such large distances:

  • B-rank: Summons of this rank have 100 chakra to use and can have 2 standard jutsu to to A rank in addition to their natural biological anatomy.
  • A-rank: Summons of this rank have 200 chakra to use and can have 4 standard jutsu to to A rank in addition to their natural biological anatomy.
  • S-rank: Summons of this rank have 300 chakra to use and can have 6 standard jutsu to to A rank with one jutsu able to be S rank in addition to their natural biological anatomy.
  • SS-rank: Summons of this rank have 400 chakra to use and can have 10 standard jutsu to to A rank with two jutsu able to be S rank in addition to their natural biological anatomy.

Reminders:

  • There are some classes of summons and summoning creatures/items that are reserved to be distributed by staff exclusively and cannot be freely applied for (without staff permission). These include but are not limited to any legendary summoning creatures such as the Baku, the Rashomon Gates, the Deity Gates, certain toad and snake summons (Manda, the elder frog sages, etc...).
  • Because summoning jutsu are so very powerful in many different aspects, staff reserves the right to severely limit combination jutsu (between user and summon or any other combination) as they see fit in order to properly balance it within the jutsu guidelines.
