What do you look like?

Height: 5'1 (155cm)
Weight: 95lbs (43kg)
Hair: Crimson spikes of varying length
Eyes: Red Brown
General appearance: Physically frail due to extreme childhood illness and malnourishment, Rokumaru's skin is a dull pale despite long exposure to the sun's rays that contrasts with the crimson and maroon locks framingn his angular face. His body is thin, though somehow above-average height for his age, with little muscle definition and without a single ounce of necessary fat. Roku's skin bruises very easily, his arms and legs constantly dotted with deep-purple welts from the slightest amount of pressure. The boy's body language is lazy and withdrawn with a significant slouch and slumped shoulders, though his eyes are constantly drifting from one spot to another.

Cold even in the harsh desert heat Rokumaru is forced to wear dark colors, preferring shades of black and red that absorb the sun's rays, but does not bundle up in heavy layers to reduce exhaustion. Light jackets and T-shirts, heavy cargo pants and a second-hand pair of black open-toed shinobi boots form the entirety of his meager wardrobe. Rokumaru keeps two short braids in his hair in remembrance of a lost loved one.

Getting to know you.

Personality: In his childhood Rokumaru was very meek and submissive, traits that caused the boy to be victimized by those he depended on for support after being orphaned. Life as a nomadic tribal in a desert climate exposed him to the true reality of the world: the destiny of those who are weak shall always be decided by those who are strong. Having witnessed strong shinobi in his tribe committing crimes-against-humanity towards others while unable to intervene sparked an ambition for Rokumaru to become a strong shinobi.

Now, Roku is a brash youth with a tendency to speak his mind and impose his views on others, hiding his insecurities beneath a fiery personality. Anything that does not involve improving himself, or the village he loves, is a waste of effort that could be spent on productive things. Childhood is a privilege he was not allowed and Roku secretly envies those who were fortunate to grow up in a controlled environment. Though he is unable to trust others and has started my rivalries with his fragile ego, Rokumaru craves the acknowledgement and approval of his peers.

When Sunagakure is not involved he is selfish and self-serving, searching for how best to exploit an opportunity to further his goals provided he is not forced to break his moral code. When the village is involved, however, Rokumaru is unwaveringly loyal and would move mountains to show his love for his home. He sees the village hidden amongst the dunes as the ultimate authority in Kaze no Kuni, more so than even the wealthy Wind Daimyo, and views his own success as Suna's success.

Likes: Despite his strong feelings for his village Rokumaru loves spending his free time in the sandy wilderness miles away from anyone, enjoying both the solitude and the sand itself. Sand was one of the few comforts he found as a child; the warmth each grain retained felt like the warmth of a loved one. Both a cozy blanket and a soft bed, Rokumaru will spend hours half-buried in the sand while reading books and sunbathing. Literacy to Rokumaru was equal to food to a starving man. Written texts were his window to the world beyond his beloved dunes; whether it be the geography of Mizu no Kuni, biographies of Senju Hashirama or simple jutsu scrolls, Roku educates himself with whatever knowledge he can find. And though he has tried to ignore them, Rokumaru is struggling to handle the sudden attraction to women that comes with his developing adolescence.

Dislikes: Unfortunately for Roku, the creatures that dwell amongst the dunes are not so easy to love. Constant encounters as a child with snakes, spiders and scorpions have caused a hatred in these animals that have little to offer but bringing pain and death. Larger animals such as coyotes, jackals and wolves are to be avoided at all costs; the single desert creature Rokumaru has a soft spot for are lizards.

Due to the circumstances of his birth, Roku is envious of those with a privileged upbringing such as civilians and the clan-born, and especially jealous of those born with a kekkei genkai. He dislikes the unearned power that comes from KG's, and would prefer they did not exist at all if everyone did not receive one.

Fears/Phobia: Far from any body of water larger than a sizeable oasis, Rokumaru cannot swim and is deathly afraid of both drowning and the sort of creatures that dwell there. He refuses to water-walk under anything but life-threatening circumstances.

Scorch Release, something he had spent years observing, frightened him with the damage it could do to what was often helpless innocents. Fire in general makes Rokumaru uncomfortable, and any temperature higher than the average Suna day begins to bring up bad memories.

Ideals/Motivations: A victim of lawlessness, Rokumaru desires to see the world brought to order. He admires the Senju and Uchiha for putting aside their hatred to form Konohagakure as it brought about the end of clan warfare, but does not think they should have stopped there. Giving the Bijū to each village rather than harnessing their power to conquer the world was a mistake in Rokumaru's eyes, knowing if all villages were equal in strength there would be conflict for centuries. His unwelcome experience in life, combined with fascist political views and growing self-confidence, makes Rokumaru dream of the world united under one single banner. A new world order, with Sunagakure lording over all others with benevolence and progress in mind. Science and the arts should be the driving factors in life, not constant war with super-powerful adversaries.

Those who do not have power can count on Rokumaru's help; his own experiences as a child will not allow him to stand by while innocents suffer. Men are expendable in his eyes, including himself, but women and children deserve a chance to live long, satisfying lives. At least until they grew up to become men.

Though he has no issues with killing, even believing some people must die so others may live and be happy, it should always be the last resort and never an immediate option.

History: Long before the Kazekage founded the village, the deserts of Kaze no Kuni held hundreds of small tribes of nomads forced to wander in search of food and water, often warring with each other and those who lived beyond the borders. Rokumaru was born into one such tribe of strong shinobi, notorious for plundering entire settlements and leaving corpses in their wake. His mother was little more than a teenager when his father's tribe stumbled upon her sleepy village during an excursion to Hi no Kuni, her beauty captivating his father from the moment he saw her, and his desire for her was the sole reason she was allowed to live while all others died. Though he loved her, she was little more than a concubine.

A powerful ninjutsu user and capable of employing the advanced Scorch Release, Rokumaru's father expected his son to inherit this ability as well as his vitality and hunger for combat. The arrival of a tiny whelp, barely capable of nursing at all, was at best a disappointment. Roku's father allowed the boy to live to please his mother, but refused to involve himself with his son. The woman struggled to care for her child with little food, permanent shelter or any help, and Rokumaru suffered many diseases from poor health. During this time Rokumaru's mother fell in love with another tribesmen, a boy her age who was kind to her son and was disgusted by the way the tribe was led. Immediately they were exposed when caught embracing each other; Rokumaru was held down and forced to watch as his mother and her lover were burned alive by his jealous father.

From that day forward Roku was expected to care for himself. A boy of four, he was at the mercy of a roaming band of killers; what food he could not steal had to be earned, whether that was by sharpening weapons, collecting the spoils of war or pretending to be a girl for a few short minutes. Malnourished and often bedridden, Rokumaru would have died a young boy if not for the Kazekage Reto.

In response to the founding of Konohagakure, Reto formed a village of his own and vowed to unite the people of Kaze no Kuni under his rule. Years were spent searching for the nomadic tribes; those who could be convinced flocked to the village, and those who could not were eliminated. A shrewd and pragmatic man, Reto desired to have this tribe of shinobi in his ranks, willing to pardon them of their crimes in exchange for their loyalty. His father jumped at the chance and was given the rank of Jounin in recognition of his abilities.

Being allowed to live in Sunagakure was unlike anything Rokumaru had experienced: it was a community of civilians just as much as it was for shinobi, where people supported and depended upon one another. Trust had died with his mother years earlier, but the sense of purpose and belonging he felt among the strangers of this village had begun to chip away at his shell. His health improved rapidly with access to medicine and regular meals, thought it could not undo the damage years of poverty had done to him. Despite his anger at his father and those tribesmen for getting away with their crimes, he understood they were vital to Suna's well-being and learned that compromises must be made for the greater good.

Now Rokumaru attends the Academy as a student, learning how to be a shinobi in hopes he can pay back the debt he owes to Suna. Without his large chakra reserve inherited from his father, the boy would not rise further than a Genin or administrative Chūnin.

Face claim: {Yusuke Asahina, Brother's Conflict}

Nice character application, there is only one thing that I am able to point out for you to amend.
•Character weight: for your characters height his weight (though I know from readying that he is malnourished) would leave him technically classed as anorexic and unable to function properly.
