Name: Magnet Release (Jiton, 磁遁)
History:
Jiton is an ability that has been passed down through the ages through differing bloodlines across the world. No real origin point is set for those who have the ability to control various metals through their Kekkai Genkai and the history varies wildly from the difference pockets of users that crop up. Though there is no origin, there are some easy genetic identifiers to point to within the clan, often, the children lack control of Jiton Release and even at birth, will often swirl sand or control metals from their infancy. Even beyond that, those with the KKG are not always known to pass on the ability to their children, sometimes skipping generations in those who are able to use it and sometimes appearing out of nowhere with those that had no history of having the ability. Curiously, no real identifier into the genetics of the clan exists and how little information leaves a veil of mystery covering their history and their ability.

Beyond this though, there are simply two sects of Jiton, the metal sand users and the metal manipulators. Simply put, when a person showed prowess with one form of the ability, the other was completely shut off from them in any form. Rumors spread that originally the progenitor for the clan had absolute control of both abilities, and serves as a guide and legend towards many members wishing to attain both powers themselves. Rumors aside though, the clan diversified themselves and spread throughout the world and were used as essential weapons for many clans and military's throughout history including the Warring States Period. Using the members as they could find them and indoctrinating them as clan members in order to infuse the ability into their own clans. However, there haven't been successful attempts at combining Jiton with any other KKG though as powerful an ability as it is, has become feared throughout the world. It is that fear of their ability that made them formidable weapons as they could find them, augmenting fighting forces with control of the terrain and manipulating the very weapons at many forces disposal, they were near legendary in their aptitude and the stories that followed them.

As they were integrated in various clans throughout the world as weapons and even existing in their own separate pockets and groups of Jiton users, though they remain sparse, they do have a widespread reach and no particular place is called their home. Some believe that the great sands of the Kaze no Kuni holds their true home while others think that they originated from a single person that lived in the mountains in Kaminari no Kuni and spread from there. There is no certainty about any of it and everyone tends to believe their own story that was passed down through their own families.

Requirements: Magnet Release is an advanced element release clan consisting of Wind Release and Earth Release as the composite elements. The user must also specify which type of Jiton user they are, whether they pick to use their magnet release to manipuate a metal sand or if they wish to control magnetism itself, you can't have both.
Description: Jiton has two paths to choose from,

Those that are able to magnetize and control metal objects freely as they see fit (they can not change the form of them through magnets but can magnetize anything that is made of at least 50% of a magnetic metal). They can magnetize the object and move it around as they see fit via their jutsu. Additionally, the body of a jiton user can be magnetized as well, able to hold a charge within their own body and pass on that charge (either positive or negative) through touch to other inanimate magnetic objects (made of 50% or more of a magnetic metal) as well. The ability to hold a charge on their person does not cost them any chakra and takes only 5 chakra to pass it onto another object for use (5 chakra per object charged).  

There are some limits though as the user can only pass on a charge to so many objects before it is too weak to control. The table below shows roughly the number of objects that a Jiton user can control via magnetism:

  • E-rank: 1 kunai/shuriken
  • D-rank: 5 kunai/shuriken
  • C-rank: 10 kunai/shuriken
  • B-rank: 25 kunai/shuriken
  • A-rank: 50 kunai/shuriken
  • S-rank: 100 kunai/shuriken


The above list is only a rough estimate and using larger sized objects obviously reduces the number that the user control (something like a windmill shuriken could be estimated to be worth 5 normal shuriken or a human-sized object could be worth 25 shuriken and so on). Of course, the user can control more than the shown amount but for every time the number is doubled (rounded up), the speed and range of the jutsu is halved in turn (rounded down).

And then there are the metal sand users. The metal sand users are able to create and gather more of their sand from the environment around them and create unique shapes, but in the end, they are only ever made of metal sand and if chakra stops flowing through their constructs for any reason, it will fall harmlessly to the ground (where they can reanimate it by applying chakra to the sand again).

The users of this type are limited by the total volume of sand that can be controlled at once via the list below:

  • E-rank: 0.1 m3
  • D-rank: 1 m3
  • C-rank: 2.5 m3
  • B-rank: 5 m3
  • A-rank: 10 m3
  • S-rank: 25 m3


With the same as before, the user can increase the amount of sand they can control but for every time their volume is doubled (rounded up) the speed and range is halved (rounded down). Additionally, the metal sands are much tougher than the average jutsu, increasing the defensive properties of their jutsu by 1 full rank but holding the same elemental properties as a standard doton jutsu would.

Drawbacks:

  • A Jiton user must pick one path and is ineligible to pick the other path or use that ability in any form. If the user should pick to use the metal sand then any abilties which would fall under the domain of the first path, are unavailable to them and vice-versa.
  • Magnet-sand users are only able to use a single type of sand (must state in their character app along with their path like so: Jiton [Magnet Sand - Gold Sand]. The available types of sand are available are the magnetic metals: iron, nickel, cobalt, and steel. Additionally, they can also control Gold, Silver, or normal sand if they so choose.
  • All magnet jutsu suffer an inherent weakness to lightning and lightning based jutsu as it disturbs the electromagnetic field that the techniques consist of, reducing their defensive power by 1 rank in the presence of any Raiton/-based jutsu and their offensive power by 1 rank as well in the opposite.
  • Magnet sand jutsu are vulnerable to Suiton techniques as well, and while wet, magnet sand jutsu have their speed cut in half until the water is purged from the sand that they are using.
  • All Jiton users must have Ninjutsu as their primary specialization (meaning no other spec can be a higher rank than Ninjutsu, though they can be equal ranks if they so choose).
  • Magnet Body path users are also weak to lightning jutsu (only while their body holds as a charge) as they take damage of 1 rank higher against Raiton and Raiton based jutsu due to the charge within their own body amplifying the effect of the raiton jutsu.

- A bit of a nitpicky thing...You've titled the "clan" Jiton Release which means "Magnet Release Release" I suggest changing it to Magnet Release for ease of people finding it in the future and so that it makes a little more sense.

- Since you don't really specify a clan in the history, would it be feasible for say, an Uchiha to manifest Jiton? Or a member of any established clan? Or is it just that the bloodlines are so obscure that there is no clan name? I just want to make sure I'm understanding properly.

-For the metal control path: is there any limit as to the number of metal objects users can control at a time depending on the rank of their jutsu (or maybe element)? Can a D-Rank jutsu control a hundred S-Rank fuma shuriken? Do objects controlled by Jiton jutsu interact with other jutsu as normal objects or as jutsu?

-For metal sands: What do the sands actually do? Right now they just seems like flavor or doton. Do they have an elemental affinity? Do they work better defensively than other jutsu? I would also like to see a limit to the amount of sand a user can control based either jutsu rank or element rank so that we don't have C-Rank Desert-spanning jutsu.
