Responsibilities [Kyoshi] Empty Responsibilities [Kyoshi]

Post by Eizō on Tue Jun 11, 2019 7:42 pm

There was a weird feeling that bubbled up beneath him, something odd that sat below his stomach and threatened the contents of his being. It wasn't nervousness or anxiety, it was something more... akin to boredom? A feeling that he needed to do well and be the best representative of the clan that he could be, it was instilled into him without question. The words his father etched into him long ago as the Uchiha had decided to join the village and at the same time, was re-drilled into his person before his first missions.

"You're an Uchiha, we have a strong and proud legacy. Even though you'll be working with some other ninja now to complete missions for the village, it's important that you don't shirk your work and give the wrong impression. All there is to it is that there is them, and us. And as long as we stick together and maintain the pride of our clan, then we don't have a reason to worry about our place in this village.

It might be harsh..."
his father would drop at a small pause before continuing on, "But you now represent our clan to the others, not as enemies on the battlefield to show them your strength directly, but as comrades to prove your strength as an example."

The small memory faded and Eizō's mind quickly came back to his current position, on a bench waiting calmly in his ninja gear, dark clothing with black pants and black sandals. His pouch was attached to the back right of his waist and his kunai pouch firmly affixed to the center of his right thigh. He felt ready, his head slumped over and his elbows resting on his knees. The crawling sensation in his stomach, as his eyes caught a slight glimpse of the Uchiha clan logo that was fixed to the center of his shirt brought him back to his casual worry. A mission partner for several, essentially, chores around the village.

It was almost ludicrous that he would need help on such essential tasks but he knew what it meant. He also knew that he would get paid and get his first chance to show off what he was made of and what the Uchiha were like to others. It wasn't long ago that the Uchiha was fighting wars and battles against every clan that helped make up the conglomerate that was now Konohagakure no Sato. He was alive then, old enough to participate in some ways, he could remember the days that belonged to his clan's dominance, and the downfall of the clan that led to their joining the village. The worries from shrieking women at the news, the hushed whispers at how this meant their subjugation and how the others would ban together to control and use the Uchiha like pawns. The ideas boiled at Eizō's blood as he gripped his fists and saw the veins begin to bulge against the muscles in his forearms while his elbows still rested on his knees.

His long hair drooped over his face as he sat there before inhaling deeply, unclenching his fists and then exhaling in a sigh. There was no point to it, he didn't have the combat strength or experience to change things, and if the best of his clan couldn't, then he was hopeless. Maybe it would be better to fall in line and work to make sure that the image and perfect world the village was supposed to offer would work out? Guarantee that their work would be for the common good and everything else they sold them on. Maybe, but the ideas brought about by his clans about subjugating them and their eyes for the other clans' use wouldn't get out of his head.

Especially not out of Eizō's as he sat up and flicked his head back to lightly thud against the wall behind him, lithe neck beginning to show as his hair parted away to both side of his face and behind him as he finished. Staring up into the bright blue sky with a few nearly snow white clouds spotting it, the sun was still low in the morning air and a light breeze blew across the street that left the scent of fresh grass and trees blowing through the air with the rustling of leaves passing along with it.

Responsibilities [Kyoshi] Empty Re: Responsibilities [Kyoshi]

Post by Kyoshi on Tue Jun 18, 2019 7:56 pm

Despite the fact that Kyoshi had told himself that he would always be ready and willing to do whatever missions he was given as a shinobi, the young Senju was dreading the day ahead. The white haired young man let out a small groan as he pulled out a small scroll on his waist and went over the list of tasks that he would be working on that day. There was a plethora of a tasks, none of which were appealing to the recently promoted genin. Everything from washing dishes to stocking shop shelves to painting to taking out the trash from the village administration building adored his accursed list. Of all the things that he thought we would be doing to help the village, carrying trash was not one of them. Besides that, the mission scroll said that he would be working with another ninja! It was nothing short of ridiculous, and there was nothing that Kyoshi would or could do about it. With another short sigh, the white haired young man rolled up the scroll, glanced out the window at the sun that was rising over the horizon, and stood to gather the rest of his gear so that he could get to work.

Kyoshi wasted no time from that point forward, scarfing down the rest of his morning meal and then head into his room to prepare for the day ahead. The genin threw on his dark, red trimmed shirt and black pants. The red shirt hung open slightly as he pulled his singled sleeved, white yakata before reaching below his bed to pull out his ninja tooling. As he sifted through the kunai, shuriken, and senbon that eh called his own, a small frown began to crease his face. His eyes eventually fell to the forehead protector that had been granted to him upon his graduation. For a moment, Kyoshi just stared at it, holding in his hand silently before dropping it back into the box. Despite graduating from the academy like many of his other peers, he did not yet feel like he had earned the headband. He knew absolutely nothing about truly being a ninja. Sure, he could do some basic jutsu, and he was decent at hand to hand combat, but he was so far behind the rest of the ninja his age, he knew that he didn’t deserve the title of genin. Just the day before he had seen other members of his clan that had lived in the same area as him during the Warring States period grabbing C-Rank missions or D-Rank missions that actually meant something to the village. They were the true ninja there, not him.

With a scowl still creasing his face, waves of regret and disappointment rushed through the young Senju. He wished that he had learned more when he was younger. He wished that his parents hadn’t held him back. He wished that his father…The simple thought of his father combined with his feelings of regret conjured up images of the day that his father died. He could still see the smoke of the homes burning around him. He could hear the screams of his kin as they were slaughtered by other kin. He could taste and smell the ashes rising around him as his home burned to the ground at the hand of rebellious Senju. And he could still see his father’s body, laying on the ground before him in a puddle of blood. He felt his mother pull grab his arm and pull him as he ran. He ran faster then eh ever had before. His lungs burned, his eyes stung, he couldn’t speak at all for the smoke that clogged his chest. The shouts of his mother’s voice urging him forward echoed in his ears. They needed to leave. They needed to get out. There was nothing left for them. He was gone.

Kyoshi blinked and found himself outside, walking through the streets of Konohagakure no Sato. He didn’t remember pulling his boots on or tying his blue obi around his waist, but as he looked down, he saw that he was ready for duty. The young man stifled a shudder as he realized just how dangerous that kind of hallucinating could be if he did not keep it in check. He paused then for a moment to shake his head clear and get his bearings before pressing forward. The upside of his little blackout was that he had walked almost all the way to the designated meeting point, and before too long, Kyoshi found himself rounding a corner and arriving on site. Taking a moment to get his bearings, the genin noticed another young man close to him, sitting where his partner was meant to be found. The boy was younger than him for sure, which caused a small ripple of envy to squirm through the Senju. But that was quickly replaced by pride and anticipation as he noticed that the clothing the dark clad boy was wearing was emblazoned with the symbol of the Uchiha clan. Kyoshi had never worked with an Uchiha before, and it seemed like a day of pointless work that they both seemed equally excited for would be a perfect opportunity to talk about the history of their two clans.

Kyoshi let himself smile and raised a hand to wave as he closed the distance between himself and the younger Uchiha. “Good morning, I’m Kyoshi Senju. I take it you’re going to be my partner for taking out the trash today?” The irritation that laced his voice was clearly directed at the jobs that were to come, but the Senju silently prayed that his companion would be as receptive as he was if they were going to be together all day…

Responsibilities [Kyoshi] Empty Re: Responsibilities [Kyoshi]

Post by Eizō on Sun Jul 07, 2019 1:53 pm

Eizō began to drop his head back down as a figure approached from the rest of the village, the sound of footsteps and all of that indication enough but Eizō's dull eyes would rest on another guy, a bit older than he was who waved simply as he approached before digging into his speech. In an instant, Eizō began to analyze the other, thinking of who he was or who he might be from what he did, but it all seemed so... open? He found the man to be so... dull, for his expectation of the Senju clan and their people. So many stories and so much else and this was it?

Eizō would raise a singular brow at his commentary before speaking as he stood up,

"Taking out the trash, huh? So these missions to help the village aren't worth your time or effort then?" he would continue on, feeling the tightness in his muscles as he stood, having sat almost motionless for that time. Of course, Eizō himself did think these missions beneath himself but he had to work his way up, and this guy was nearly twice his age! In actuality he wouldn't even be close but Eizō was determined to show the superiority of his clan to this new found Senju and his low demeanor of their work.

As without missing a beat, Eizō would step forward while still talking and leaving no room for Kyoshi to interject, or rather, not leaving enough room for him to stop his own ranting to hear the other boy out at all, "These missions help support the village and its infrastructure as well as supporting the people of the village itself... even if it is, taking out the trash," he would let his eyes turn more apathetically towards Kyoshi as he would stop next to him. "The trash needs to be taken out by someone before it overflows. Besides, wasn't this whole thing your idea to begin with? Making the village and supporting it. Now the Senju don't even want to follow through with their own end of things... typical."

The words would grow harsher until it ended and Eizō realized what he was saying, spouting out from the ideology of the clan and his father at some stranger. But not just a stranger, someone who probably had nothing to do with anything, but he wore their name and Eizō was determined to make his point and end his lecture. Almost regardless of Kyoshi's reaction to all of this, Eizō would sigh and jump off while shouting,

"Let's go, we don't have all day for this." hesitation amounting before he would turn his head back again to shout, "You can call me Eizō by the way..." and with that, he would be running and jumping off to the first of their missions and chores for the day.
