E-rank
Genjutsu Kai:

Name: Genjutsu Dissipation Technique (幻術解 ~ Genjutsu Kai)
Rank: E-rank
Type: Defensive
Specializations: Genjutsu
Description: This technique serves as a ninja's first line of defense against genjutsu techniques that they might come across. By forming either the Snake or Tiger handseals, and wildly agitating their own internal chakra, the user of this technique is able to break themselves out of (most) genjutsu. In order to break a single genjutsu, the user must pay a chakra cost equal to the cost of the genjutsu you are escaping + 10 chakra. [OOC: Genjutsu Kai is restricted to only being able to break genjutsu of your ninja rank because of the limited chakra control that you have trained at each rank.]
Way of the Arctic Ermine, Weasel War Stance:

Name: Way of the Arctic Ermine: Weasel War Stance
Rank: E-rank
Type: Supplementary
Specializations: Ninjutsu, Taijutsu | Wind, Water
Description:
This 'technique' is the default stance of the 'Way of the Arctic Ermine' martial arts style, functioning as the base from which all other family techniques stem. While it grants no advantages, one requires to be in possession of this technique to 'unlock' the learning and use of all family techniques.

The 'Way of the Arctic Ermine' is not an acknowledged martial arts but rather a mixture of Baguazhang and feral survival techniques. It is an acrobatic fighting style with elusive, circular footwork which allows a character to 'flow' in and out of the way and reposition towards more favourable places. It's combat is balanced in terms of offensive and defensive, and sports a wide variety of strikes, grapples and throws. Likewise, the style is not shy of delivering hard blows or rapid flurries alike, and doesn't mind mixing in traditional with unorthodox manoeuvres.

Considered neither a hard, nor a soft style, the 'Way of the Arctic Ermine' leans easily towards pure taijutsu, pure ninjutsu or a nintaijutsu way of fighting, allowing chakra users even more versatility with this fighting style.

D-rank
Substitution Technique:

Name: Body Replacement Technique (変わり身の術 ~ Kawarimi no Jutsu)
Rank: D-rank
Type: Defensive/Supplementary
Specializations: Ninjutsu
Description: Otherwise known as the Substitution Jutsu, the user of this technique is able to escape from imminent harm by replacing their body with another object (must be at least half of the user's size and no larger than the user as well) in order to escape. Prepared ahead of a time (at least one post before activation) the user will funnel their chakra into an inanimate object that can be either found on the field of battle, such as a broken log or a barrel nearby, or by bringing any inanimate object with them for the purpose of this technique. Either by weaving the signs (Tiger → Boar → Ox → Dog → Snake) together they will swap places almost instantly (using the principles of the Body-Flicker Technique) with their predetermined object in a small puff of smoke. Users who have B-rank or greater Ninjutsu do not need to weave handsigns together to activate the technique and can instead activate the technique at will, while also being able to feign being hit in an effort to deceive their opponents.
Body Flicker Technique:

Name: Body Flicker Technique (瞬身の術 ~ Shunshin no Jutsu)
Rank: D-rank
Type: Defensive/Supplementary
Specializations: Ninjutsu
Description: Usable by forming the Tiger hand seal, this general skill allows a ninja to move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed. The user can conceal their presence through a variety of environmental effects to distract their opponents (a puff of smoke, flurry of leaves, sand, etc...) and seemingly disappear from their current location entirely. Though this movement is near imperceptible, it is not a teleportation movement but just a very swift movement as the users body physically moves from point A (starting point) to point B (where they wish to end up). [OOC: This technique can only be used once per thread and no actions which would be considered offensive at any level (ie. attacking an opponent) may be done for an entire post after the use of this technique.]
