Common Techniques

E-rank
Genjutsu Kai:

Name: Genjutsu Dissipation Technique (幻術解 ~ Genjutsu Kai)
Rank: E-rank
Type: Defensive
Specializations: Genjutsu
Description: This technique serves as a ninja's first line of defense against genjutsu techniques that they might come across. By forming either the Snake or Tiger handseals, and wildly agitating their own internal chakra, the user of this technique is able to break themselves out of (most) genjutsu. In order to break a single genjutsu, the user must pay a chakra cost equal to the cost of the genjutsu you are escaping + 10 chakra. [OOC: Genjutsu Kai is restricted to only being able to break genjutsu of your ninja rank because of the limited chakra control that you have trained at each rank.]

D-rank
Body Flicker Technique:

Name: Body Flicker Technique (瞬身の術 ~ Shunshin no Jutsu)
Rank: D-rank
Type: Defensive/Supplementary
Specializations: Ninjutsu
Description: Usable by forming the Tiger hand seal, this general skill allows a ninja to move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed. The user can conceal their presence through a variety of environmental effects to distract their opponents (a puff of smoke, flurry of leaves, sand, etc...) and seemingly disappear from their current location entirely. Though this movement is near imperceptible, it is not a teleportation movement but just a very swift movement as the users body physically moves from point A (starting point) to point B (where they wish to end up). [OOC: This technique can only be used once per thread and no actions which would be considered offensive at any level (ie. attacking an opponent) may be done for an entire post after the use of this technique.]
Substitution Technique:

Name: Body Replacement Technique (変わり身の術 ~ Kawarimi no Jutsu)
Rank: D-rank
Type: Defensive/Supplementary
Specializations: Ninjutsu
Description: Otherwise known as the Substitution Jutsu, the user of this technique is able to escape from imminent harm by replacing their body with another object (must be at least half of the user's size and no larger than the user as well) in order to escape. Prepared ahead of a time (at least one post before activation) the user will funnel their chakra into an inanimate object that can be either found on the field of battle, such as a broken log or a barrel nearby, or by bringing any inanimate object with them for the purpose of this technique. Either by weaving the signs (Tiger → Boar → Ox → Dog → Snake) together they will swap places almost instantly (using the principles of the Body-Flicker Technique) with their predetermined object in a small puff of smoke. Users who have B-rank or greater Ninjutsu do not need to weave handsigns together to activate the technique and can instead activate the technique at will, while also being able to feign being hit in an effort to deceive their opponents.
Surface Walking Practise:

Name: Surface Walking Practise
(面歩行の業 - Men Hokō no Gyō)
Rank: D-rank
Type: Supplementary
Specializations: General
Description: 5 chakra cost (solid surface), 10 chakra cost (liquid surface)
This technique is a globalisation of the 'Tree Climbing Practise' and the 'Water Surface Walking Practise' as the application remains the same for both variations. The 'Surface Walking Technique' allows the practitioner to stand and walk on any surface, solid or liquid, no matter its direction. Ground, water, trees, walls, ceilings... Any surface becomes a viable platform for the practitioner to stand on. This technique can be channelled through hands and feet alike.

Because it is much easier to maintain a constant, balanced flow of chakra when using this technique to walk on solid platforms, it is not as taxing to the practitioner's chakra in comparison to walking on water where the chakra emition needs to be regulated continuously.

Scent of Running Water:

Name: Scent of Running Water
Rank: D-rank
Type: Supplementary (Sensory)
Specializations: Taijutsu | Non-element
Description: [Sensory: scent]
A much needed ability for those living in harsh climates, this technique enhances the olfactory perception of the practitioner, granting them the ability to track by scent with a skill on par of bloodhounds: tracking a prey's scent days after it passed no longer poses a problem, even after wind or water deluded most of it. To be capable of such a feat, the practitioner requires to either have a 'scent article' or otherwise have taken in the scent of the target recently enough to remember it.

This technique can be maintained.

C-rank
Snowflake's Waltz:

Name: Snowflake's Waltz
Rank: C-rank
Type: Supplementary (Stealth)
Specializations: Taijutsu | Non-element
Description: [Stealth: sound, touch]
Inspired by the ephemeral snowflakes, the practitioner adopts a form of movement which is just as unobtrusive. In doing so, they no longer leave any form of imprint upon the waking world (footsteps, fingerprints, snapping twigs, etc...), nor is their presence betrayed by any form of sound (footsteps, brushing cloth, rolling, breathing, etc...).

Concentration: this technique can be maintained, but not in tandem with other techniques unless the practitioner is a 'Chakra Control Prodigy'.

B Rank
Thousand Flying Water Needles of Death:

Name: Secret Technique: Thousand Flying Water Needles of Death
(秘術・千殺水翔, Hijutsu: Sensatsu Suishō).
Rank: B-rank
Type: Offensive
Specialisations: Ninjutsu | Water Release
Description:
Through a series of hand seals, the practitioner creates a thousand water-chakra needles (the size of senbon). The needles appear within a 5m radius vicinity of the user and are arranged to be fired in a single direction (20m range) or at specific targets within the 5m radius. Like this, the practitioner can arrange the needles to create a compact 'wall' which cover a 2.5m radius, or a dome of needles spanning the full 5m radius which leaves a gap directly above the user.

Once the needles are in place, they shower down upon the hapless victim(s) at speeds of 30 m/s, without being capable of altering their trajectory. With the needles piercing up to 3" inch deep, those failing to avoid the incoming onslaught are most likely to meet a brutal end.

MARTIAL ARTS
Way of the Arctic Ermine

E Rank
Way of the Arctic Ermine, Weasel War Stance:

Name: Way of the Arctic Ermine: Weasel War Stance
Rank: E-rank
Type: Supplementary
Specializations: Ninjutsu, Taijutsu | Wind, Water
Description:
This 'technique' is the default stance of the 'Way of the Arctic Ermine' martial arts style, functioning as the base from which all other family techniques stem. While it grants no advantages, one requires to be in possession of this technique to 'unlock' the learning and use of all family techniques.

The 'Way of the Arctic Ermine' is not an acknowledged martial arts but rather a mixture of Baguazhang and feral survival techniques. It is an acrobatic fighting style with elusive, circular footwork which allows a character to 'flow' in and out of the way and reposition towards more favourable places. It's combat is balanced in terms of offensive and defensive, and sports a wide variety of strikes, grapples and throws. Likewise, the style is not shy of delivering hard blows or rapid flurries alike, and doesn't mind mixing in traditional with unorthodox manoeuvres.

Considered neither a hard, nor a soft style, the 'Way of the Arctic Ermine' leans easily towards pure taijutsu, pure ninjutsu or a nintaijutsu way of fighting, allowing chakra users even more versatility with this fighting style.

C Rank
Way of the Arctic Ermine, Winter Sun Flurry Strike:

Name: Way of the Arctic Ermine: Winter Sun Flurry Strike
Rank: C-rank
Type: Offensive
Specializations: Taijutsu | Non-element
Description: [Requires: "Way of the Arctic Ermine: Weasel War Stance"]
Briefly hastening their own strike speed by 7.5 m/s, the practitioner delivers a flurry of piercing strikes at the centre zone of their opponent's body, aiming for the plexus and pressure points. Each strike is considered a chakra-enhanced strike which delivers the practitioner's strength stat on damage upon impact, and lowers the target's agility stat by 3 tiers for 3 turns as a result of their affected plexus/pressure points.
Way of the Arctic Ermine, Winter's Caress:

Name: Way of the Arctic Ermine: Winter's Caress
Rank: C-rank
Type: Offensive
Specializations: Ninjutsu, Taijutsu | Ice Release
Description: [Requires: "Way of the Arctic Ermine: Weasel War Stance"]
The practitioner coats their fingers and nails with Ice chakra, making them appear like the claws of a weasel. As a result, the practitioner's strikes add an additional 2nd degree tissue damage (frostbite) at the point of impact and the immediate vicinity (5" around point of impact).

This technique can be maintained by applying a continued flow of chakra, which will cause the chakra claws to maintain their form.
Way of the Arctic Ermine, Waving the Winter goodbye:

Name: Way of the Arctic Ermine: Waving the Winter goodbye
Rank: C-rank
Type: Defensive
Specializations: Taijutsu | Non-element
Description: [Requires: "Way of the Arctic Ermine: Weasel War Stance"]
A defensive move, the practitioner swiftly pivots in place. Bolstered by a wild surge of chakra being released from their tenketsu during the action, incoming strikes, projectiles and techniques are blocked and pushed out of harm's way (this can't redirect attacks to its point or source of origin).

This technique can deflect a single (1) B-rank, two (2) C-rank or four (4) D-rank techniques.
Way of the Arctic Ermine, Tailwind Whirling Kick:

Name: Way of the Arctic Ermine: Tailwind Whirling Kick
Rank: C-rank
Type: Offensive
Specializations: Taijutsu | Wind Release
Description: [Requires: "Way of the Arctic Ermine: Weasel War Stance"]
Executing a hurricane kick either in tradition fashion or from the ground up, this strike causes heavy bruising upon contact. The result is broken blood vessels and a blue-black colouring of the skin tissue at the point of impact, while leaving the area sensitive to further interaction. The kick additionally makes use of the chakra flowing through the legs to slam the target back or airborne over a distance of 10 meters.
Way of the Arctic Ermine, Stride of Two Breaths:

Name: Way of the Arctic Ermine: Stride of Two Breaths
Rank: C-rank
Type: Supplementary
Specializations: Ninjutsu | Wind Release
Description: [Requires: "Way of the Arctic Ermine: Weasel War Stance"]
The 'Stride of Two Breaths' is a breathing technique which helps the practitioner to pace their body rhythm while they suffuse their body with Wind chakra for a burst of speed. The practitioner then briefly becomes a blur as they momentarily move at wind speed, granting them a +15 m/s speed burst over the short distance of 15m in a single direction. Intended to be used as an evasive action or as a follow-up to a taijutsu combo, movement may occur in any direction.

During the movement, the practitioner has no time, nor control to do much more than execute this technique.

B Rank
Human Beast Combination Transformation, Were-Weasel:

Name: Human Beast Combination Transformation - Were-Weasel
(人獣混合変化 ・ 鎌鼬 - Injū Konbi Henge: Kamaitachi).
Rank: B-rank
Type: Supplementary
Specialisations: Taijutsu [Seijutsu] | Non-element
Description: [Requires Anki, Asami's Battle Pet]
Combination Technique. When both Asami and Anki combine to become one entity, the result is a humanoid arctic ermine of extraordinary flexibility and power. The anthropomorphic ermine stands 7 ft (2.13 m) tall, lean and graceful by its nature, bearing the colours of Anki's fur from head to toe as well as his tail for additional balance. Despite its arctic grace, it doesn't miss its feral side; vicious fangs and claws are present to weave Asami's martial arts with feral evisceration.

Because both Asami and Anki must activate this technique individually, their combined power grants the following effects:
- Strength and agility are granted a +3 tier increase while this form is active.
- Offensive jutsu have their damage raised by +2 tiers ('below average' becomes 'above average', etc..) while this form is active.

This technique can be maintained as long as both partners have the chakra to do so.
