Sights Unseen. (Open) Empty Sights Unseen. (Open)

Morning light slowly found its way onto the training ground mostly empty training ground to a sight that may become somewhat regular for the early mornings had anyone been around to witness it. A young, blond girl in the midst of a rather intense workout, seeming to strike at invisible opponents in a series of attacks holding a wooden bokken. Her body clad in what one might consider something of a mix between a standard training outfit, as well as having some resemblance to a kimono. Her body was drenched in a light sheen of sweat that indicated she’d been here for longer than one would have assumed by the early hour.

Miku frowned as she tried to notice any flaws in her technique, focusing on the way her strikes flew through the air as she went through the form as best as she could recall. Such things were difficult, as she tried her best to focus on the weight of the wooden training weapon and the positioning of her hands. Mentally mapping out where she was in the training ground using her own experience with the place.  Se frowned, thinking on the events from earlier in the day. Things had hardly gone well, especially with her sister away on some kind of mission, meaning she couldn’t even rely on her sister’s training distracting her parents and reducing the blowback.

Her parents had finally learned that she had joined the village’s ninja forces and predictably wereagainst it, even though both were forced to accept that it was far too late to reverse it. Miku felt mixed about the whole thing. Her parents seemed to treat her as though she were made of glass, and only seemed to give her any notice when she seemed to be doing something they disproved of. She frowned as she stumbled, noting a branch from the tree that hadn’t been there the previous day. Her footing having been tripped up by the branch causing her to frown, knowing she’d need to find a way to avoid doing things like that. She fell to the ground training letting her make sure the fall was safe and thus wouldn’t cause any sort of injury.

Miku sat up, sightless eyes looking upwards as she wondered what she should do next. Her parents were already trying to maneuver a way to get her dismissed from the Shinobi force, sighting her blindness as their reason. The girl shifted into sitting cross legged as she considered her options idly moving through handsigns as she did so. It would hardly do to not be able to be able to perform her hand signs quickly. As her mind wandered back. She just couldn’t think of anything. Ears perked as she worried somebody would take issue with her training alone. Though she'd at least managed to remember to wear the weird metal thing that was supposed to indicate herself as a ninja, not wanting somebody to assume she was simply some lost civilian girl that had stumbled into the training grounds.

It wasn’t odd for a practicing shinobi to be awake in the early hours of the sunrise, beneath the first rays of the sun’s warmth. This was a profession that required all sorts of extremes, and being awake in moments of darkness, waiting to strike, was commonplace. As such, shinobi villages never truly went to sleep. Even after the sun went down there would continue to be activity throughout the village, whether it be from those returning from missions abroad or the training of the young and hopeful. The constant activity, even if dulled down from what it would be in the prime hours of daylight, made it difficult to feel lonely even in the dead of night.

It would be around this time, in the early hours of the morning, where inspiration could be gathered. Taking stock of the promising and dedicated young souls that meticulously worked within this village was a favored pastime of the young Mizukage. There was something of a beauty that came from the total dedication of an individual’s focus towards a single pursuit. It was enough to make her want to write poetry of some sort, although every time Chigetsu put themselves towards trying to write something along those lines it always ended up being absolute rubbish. Still, even if the end result would end up disappointing, the potential energy that existed within witnessing these actions made the action of writing necessary. As such, after walks through the village’s many training grounds the Mizukage’s office would often find its rubbish bins stuffed full of crumpled notes and half-written rhymes.

Pink hair that would normally be kept tight in braids would instead be loose, flowing down in damp strands over the Mizukage’s shoulders. Their face, normally one of regalities, would be of similar damp status and lacking much of the cosmetics that Chigetsu normally wore. The only scent they carried was the light aroma of florally scented soap, making their recent shower all the more obvious together with their still drying hair. Nothing more than a simple kimono adorned them on this journey, most notably leaving their bare feet to be stained the lightest shade of green as the morning walk took them through fields of fresh grass and morning dew. Already a good deal of others had been passed by, the Mizukage’s eyes flicking to each as they strolled passed the village’s collection of training grounds. The beginnings of a poem would begin to formulate in her mind as she witnessed the sweat spilled by those hard at work training, but for now this would only be abstract emotions and single words. In truth, Chigetsu was not very good at writing poetry, despite all her efforts to encapsulate the aesthetic of a warrior poet.

Her idle thoughts were torn away from the subject of poetry by the stumbling of feet, caught just at the edge of her peripheral vision. The Mizukage’s vision would focus then on the stumbling young girl, her inelegant movements catching the woman’s eye. The morning walk that Chigetsu had been taking would be paused as they continued to watch the new subject of their attention. The stumble was shortly followed with a general collapse to the ground, and frustration would leak out readily of the girl even though she barely made a sound to express herself. Her training would transition seamlessly into hand seals, and the shift would almost bring a small laugh to the Mizukage’s lips.

“Footwork is one of the most important parts of being a swordsman.” Chigetsu would offer an idle comment as she approached the girl, stepping gingerly onto the packed dirt of the training ground. “Put more of your weight on the forward foot, and try to keep your heels from raising too far. It should help keep you from stumbling if you get struck, whether it be by a branch or fist.” Offering a bit of advice like this wasn’t something that Chigetsu usually did, but seeing the girl fall as she did made her take a bit of pity on the poor girl. She was clearly trying very hard, as the strong scent of sweat that emanated from her made obvious, and so offering a bit of guidance to help her overcome whatever difficulties she was facing only felt fair.

It was only thanks to the sound of crunching grass that Miku took note she was no longer alone in the training field she’d taken to practicing in during the early morning hours. Though the exact identity of the other person hardly seemed evident. The girl quirked her head to the side listening as her hands moved from the sign of the monkey, to the dog, to the tiger. Moving seamlessly through the seals while varying the order with every cycle. A nin could never tell what signs they might need to transition from to do a jutsu without already knowing the jutsu, and knowing how to transition seamlessly from seal to seal would undoubtedly be an important skill for her in the future, especially come the inevitable mission, assuming the village allowed her to actually serve as a ninja.
She knew her parents had already been working to have her status as a ninja revoked, using what influence they’d built in the village to try to pressure the kage. At least according to the plans she’d overhead them making from her own bedroom. It was clear they didn’t think she could do it, and the idea annoyed the Senju girl to no end. She frowned, noting the approaching person appeared to be continuing to walk in her direction. Sightless eyes turning to the direction of her focus, though the unseeing gaze would hardly be accurate to the exact position of her apparent guest. There was a floral scent that hadn’t been there before, likely that was something like a soap or something. But it indicated it was PROBABLY a girl. THe sound supported that, the tread being slight enough based on the sound to support that idea. She wasn’t sure who else would be here, since while there certainly were other nin that trained in the early morning hours, she’d chosen this spot specifically because it had been private.

She was about to disregard it, returning her focus back to her handsigns when a familiar voice brought her out of her focus, the girl struggling to her feet after a moment after realizing who it was. “Mizukage-sama!” SHe said, giving a deep respectful bow that was somewhat less effective as she bowed just to the left of where the Kage was. It was only after that she realized what it was she was being told. The advice sinking in a moment later as she realized this was probably not any sort of official business. “Ah...that’s why...I’ve been trying to figure out what i was doing wrong.” It didn’t help that her parents had cut her off from any sort of formal training after her sister had started showing real talent. Only really restricting her to the most basic forms during sessions meant to train her, while her sister had been taught the more advanced arts. “Er I mean...nobody else was supposed to see that.” SHe remarked in a quiet, embarrassed voice.
